How do engagements typically begin?

We usually begin with an exploratory conversation — either by phone or at our Kuala Lumpur office — to understand your situation and whether our approach seems like a reasonable fit. There is no commitment at that stage. If both parties wish to proceed, we then outline a proposed scope and timeline before any work begins.

What kinds of businesses do you typically work with?

Most of our clients are established Malaysian businesses operating in maritime services, logistics, regional trade, or port-adjacent commerce. We are not well suited to early-stage startups or businesses without an existing operational footprint, as our analytical work draws on what is already in place.

How long does a typical engagement last?

It depends on the service selected. Maritime Industry Consulting typically runs nine to twelve weeks. Trade Corridor Analysis is somewhat shorter. Port City Business Advisory engagements generally conclude within six to eight weeks. We try not to extend beyond the agreed scope without clear reason.

Are the fees shown inclusive of all costs?

The fees listed cover the advisory work itself. Where site visits outside Klang Valley are involved, travel and accommodation costs are agreed separately beforehand. We try to keep any such additional costs modest and will discuss them openly before the engagement scope is finalized.

How is client information handled?

We treat all client information with discretion. Engagement details, findings, and internal documents shared with us are not discussed with other clients or third parties. Confidentiality terms are included in every engagement agreement.

Do you work with businesses outside Kuala Lumpur?

Yes. Our Port City Business Advisory service is specifically designed for businesses in Klang, Penang, Pasir Gudang, Kuching, and other Malaysian port cities. Much of the analytical work can proceed remotely, with site visits scheduled where they would add meaningful value.
